Vinyasa & Pranayama for the end of Pitta (Summer) Season

  • The Sacred Movement 196 Stanton Street New York, NY, 10002 United States (map)

Ayurveda, or ‘life knowledge’ is all about finding balance, and enabling each person’s internal environment (the body and mind) to work harmoniously with their external environment (the outside world).

Living in alignment with the seasons is one of the best ways to help support health and wellbeing, helping to balance the immune system, digestive pathways, and each person’s dosha. There are three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

Just as each person has a predominant dosha, each time of day and each season is also governed by a particular dosha. Summer is closely associated with Pitta dosha - a combination of the elements of Fire and Water, which when out of balance can bring about a sense of rigidness, stiffness, irritability and emotional discontent.

Embodying the element of air - known for balancing the excess of Pitta, Im inviting you to embody suspension, lightness, creativity and play as we move through a intentionally sequenced Vinyasa designed to leave you feeling joy and ease!

Working with balancing and heart-opening postures, you will be guided through a creatively sequenced slow flow, using Asana - postures - as well as breathing techniques - Pranayama - inviting you to find the ease, joy and presence needed to transition into the next season.

Class is held at Sanctuary NYC.

Space is limited to 10 people.
